As an iLearningGlobal Marketer, this was NOT a shock to me.

The pricing of the iLearningGlobal Premium EDGE program was one of the major reasons that the network marketing model failed.

Personal development is NOT in the budget of most people, so paying $180/mo was a tall order, especially in the current economy.

It would have been better suited to be marketed at a $59.95 or $79.95 price point.

This gives you all the more reason to NOT primarily promote your network marketing company, but to use an Internet marketing system that helps you:

• Promote yourself, so that if your primary business closes, you still have a following;
• Build your email list and build your relationship with the people on your list, so that they get to know you, like you and trust you;
• Earn multiple streams of income with affiliate products, to increase your income;
• Automatically present your business opportunity, so that the right people CALL YOU, instead of chasing after them.

This guide page will help you setup a WordPress blog to act as your Nerve Center, which is a central place where all of the major traffic sources can be funneled to build your email marketing list.

• Your blog is a place where you can passively market you and your business to visitors from Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
• It can help you attract leads through Search Engine Optimization.
• It will allow you to actively market using Pay Per Click strategies.
• It allows you to build your email marketing list, which is your most valuable business asset.
• It allows you to market online, with a reduced chance of violating your network marketing companies policies and procedures.
• And it will let you take advantage of multiple streams of income, to monetize your traffic and your leads through affiliate marketing.

First of all, you want to get a WordPress hosted blog

Free WordPress or Blogger pages are owned by those companies, and they can revoke your website at any time. Recently, they have been focusing on removing network marketing and affiliate marketing sites.

Free blogs with a yourdomainname.wordpress.com address just isn’t professional looking.

You’ll be able to get ranked in the search engines easier with a self-hosted blog, with your own domain name.

Choose a domain name that will brand you.

That may be your firstnamelastname.com. Speaking of, always use a .com domain name if possible, because people now just assume the www and .com, so they only care about the name in the middle.

If you don’t use your name, try using your target audience keywords. The keywords should describe what they will find on your web site.  Ex. www.MLM7FigureNetworker.com

Don’t use hard to spell words. Be careful in using numbers or abbreviations, such myblog4u.com, which can be spelled myblogforyou, myblogforu or myblog4you

I use and recommend GoDaddy for all of my domain names.

Now you need to host your blog with a service that is easy to use and fast-loading

Don’t host at GoDaddy as the load times are slow on WordPress blogs.

I use and recommend HostGator which is only $9.95/month for the Baby Web Hosting Package, and WordPress is easy to load with the Fantastico tool. The Baby package is a bit more, but you can host multiple domain names on one account.

Now you’ll want to get a cool WordPress theme to stand out in the crowd.

The standard WordPress themes are well… boring.

WooThemes have great themes, that are easy to use, and they are social media and SEO friendly

Recommended WordPress Plugins

Log into your WordPress account can click on Plugins on the left side of the page, then select ADD NEW, type in the Plugin name, and then click Search Plugins

Use the All In One SEO Plug-in to help optimize your site for the search engines.

I highly recommend a new plug-in called Scribe SEO, which was developed by Copyblogger’s Brian Clark and other SEO copywriting experts.  It will grade your blog post to give you feedback on how to optimize your post for SEO.

I use Google XML Sitemaps, which automatically generates updated sitemaps of your blog, and submits them to Google, Yahoo and Bing.

I use Discus for my comment moderator Plugin

I use the Sociable Plugin to make it easy for people to share my blog posts

I use the Tweet MeMe ReTweet Button to make it easy for people to ReTweet my posts

The Onlywire for WordPress plugin lets you alert all of the popular bookmarking sites about your new blog post, with a couple of button clicks.

You’ll want to get an Email Marketing Account

The fortune is in the list, so you’ll want to have a form on your blog, so that people can opt into your email list.

I use and recommend GetResponse to build your Email Marketing list, as it’s easy to use and it is compatible with the TheMLMMastermindSystem.com that I use for Internet marketing.

Most home business owners know that Social Media communities are the place to be these days, as they give you access to millions of people.

The problem is that most network marketers are simply pitching their products and business opportunity and expecting people to respond.

Remember this my friend… People love to buy, but they hate to be sold.

In a world where we’re exposed to countless ads on TV, radio, magazines and online, pitching your product and business is not an effective marketing strategy.

Let’s clear away the thought that you’re going to sponsor people into your business without having a relationship first. It’s just not going to happen.

People do business with those that they know, like and trust.

Your strategy online should be to serve others… to add value… to encourage them…

Perry Belcher gave a great analogy about how you can attract people to you on social media:

He says that social media sites are like a party, where people get to know each other and have fun.

If you were to talk to every person at the party about your product and business opportunity, you would come across as a jerk.

Instead, if you take the focus off yourself and ask people questions and show a genuine interest in them, they will tend to like you.

If you connect with someone at a party, you might invite them over to your house to hang out. On social media, you would invite them to visit your blog… yes, you need to have a blog.

If someone came over to your house for a party, they will look around and get a sense of what you’re about, by looking at pictures and your taste is decor.

When they visit your blog, they will look around, check out the pictures of you and your family and friends, read a few blog posts and get a sense of who you are.

At a party, they might seek you out to have a conversation on the back patio, to find out more about what you do.

On your blog, they would seek you out by getting on your email list, by calling you or by emailing you, to find out more about your business.

Do you see the natural progression here? The reason you’re on social media is to connect with like-minded people, to develop real relationships and to have ‘offline’ conversations, which can lead to partnering together in business.
